In 1976, the innovative industry pioneer, Mr. Mervin Larson formed The Mervin Larson Company, located in Tuscon, AZ to provide realistic environments for zoos. A year later, he changed the company’s name to: The Larson Company. And, with those courageous steps, began what would become the largest and most successful theme entertainment construction company in the world today.

As each year passed throughout the 1980’s and 1990’s, The Larson Company led the way in the development of innovative artificial environments, theme attractions, destination theme parks and resorts around the world. By that time, Larson had developed new and highly innovative products in the construction of coral for commercial aquariums and cell tower concealment systems that would revolutionize both industries. Larson’s creative talents and spirit continued with achievements in realistic animal habitats, rock work, containment systems and increased guest interaction with animals and wildlife in the world’s most well-attended zoos.

Over a 40-year period, The Larson Company would conceive, design and deliver the largest and most successful animal parks, zoos, public aquariums, water parks and theme parks in the world. Our long list of satisfied clients, subsequent expansions and profitable properties stand as a testament to the creative talents and strategic value of a Larson developed project.

After working many years with The Larson Company as a trusted independent contractor, Mr. William Shehan, Jr., who founded Man Made Wonders and led its growth for over ten years, purchased The Larson Company in 2004. The company quickly expanded its operations in the U.S. and established a facility in the United Arab Emirates. Over time, Mr. Shehan’s expertise and leadership in the industry introduced opportunities for the company to initiate strategic partnerships and facilitate capital investments in its larger and more compelling destinations.

From our company’s headquarters in Florence, Kentucky, U.S.A., we offer our services and talents to clients around the world, with special focus and interest in countries that are part of the Gulf Cooperative Council. The mission of Larson Theme Construction is consistent:
To create unique and memorable experiences for our visitors through innovative attractions and theme destinations while implementing methods and strategies that deliver a compelling return on investment for our capital partners.
